Charles William Francis, 80, of Richmond, went to be with the Lord on Monday, March 5, 2007 at his home. He was the owner of Acme Sign Company for over 52 years. Mr. Francis was a faithful member of Immanuel Baptist Church for 64 years. He served his country in the U.S. Army during World War II. Mr. Francis was preceded in death by his daughter, Sandra Kay Tuck; and a granddaughter, Shannon Paige Francis. He is survived by his beloved wife of 60 years, Margaret H. Francis; four children, Roger Wayne Francis and Ginger, Carol Francis Wray and husband, Joe, Patricia Ann Francis and Margaret Charlene Francis; seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; a brother, Daniel Francis; a sister, Pauline Pollard; and close cousins, Waverly and Margie Lancaster. The family will receive friends Thursday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at the Bliley Funeral Homes' Staples Mill Chapel, 8510 Staples Mill Road, where a funeral service will take place Friday at 12 noon. Interment Greenwood Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the mission fund at Immanuel Baptist Church, 3601 Monument Ave., Richmond, Va. 23230.
